Sustainable Visions Film screening and discussion event by Translocal UK/CRO.

Friday 20th October 2006

Session 1

9.00 - 11.00am; Opening session; Fidelma Mullane - Vernacular Architecture in rural Clare; Djeribi & Dominic Stevens - House and homested as works that make the landscape inhabitable; Ground Up Artists' Collective - Re-negotiating relationships; public artworks in the rural sphere; Panel Discussion - The future of rural Ireland in the post-agricultural context.

Session 2

11.15 - 1.30pm; Adam Sutherland, Grizedale Arts, UK [Recent work in rural contexts in the UK and Japan]; Fernando Garcia Dory ESP [Art and Agroecology]; Kristina Leko CRO [Artist presentation focusing on her work in rural contexts in Croatia and Hungary]; Dr. Mark Haywood UK [Presentation of context-specific artworks in Cumbria, UK focusing on Sellafield and Windfarms]

Session 3

Themed Discussion Groups - themes to be confirmed

1.30 - 2.45pm; Lunch

Session 4 Keynote addresses

3.00 - 4.30pm;

Suzanne Lacy (3-3.35); Simon Sheikh (3.40-4.15).

Session 5

4.30 - 5.45pm; Chaired discussion; feedback from discussion groups; then panel discussion with all presenters.

Saturday October 21st

9.30 - 7.00pm; On-site Symposium, Rural Vernacular; Bus tour to various locations of context specific works for discussions with artists.
